2009 Nov 20: Update on Main Line Break (8:45 am)

Operating staff and subcontractors have worked at the leak site all night in the arroyo near Bosque Loop. We have all supplies on site and will begin breaking the concrete surrounding the pipe shortly. We will need to replace about 100 feet of pipe in the arroyo. Because of the wetness of the ground, we will need to put in a rock base before laying the new pipe. Once the pipe is repaired, operating staff will blow out the lines and adjust pressure zone settings. Unfortunately, this work will likely take most of Friday.

Drinking water has been delivered to most of the families without service. Additional water is available at the EAWSD Business Office at 1 Caliente Road.

We understand how inconvenient this situation is for the approximately 125 families who are without water and can assure you that we are working to repair the leak as quickly as possible.
